Theatre Lighting
GERRY JENKINSON first became interested in lighting while working in and for bands in 1966. After a year at Watford Palace Theatre with Giles Havergal and Philip Prowse, he moved to the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh (Lawnmarket and Grassmarket) as Stage Manager and Lighting Designer. Gerry stayed in Edinburgh for three Festivals designing lighting for Max Stafford Clarke, sound for the Salvador Dali exhibition and lighting and sound for the Lindsay Kemp Mime Company.
In 1970 Gerry left Edinburgh to rejoin Giles Havergal, Philip Prowse and Robert David MacDonald in Glasgow at the Citizens and Close Theatres.
Since then he has been lighting Citizens productions both in Glasgow and on tour to International Festivals.
Tours with the Citizens and other companies have taken him to Borneo, France, Germany, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Malaya, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, USA, USSR, Venezuela and Yugoslavia.
